Long
Beach & Atlantic Beach:

Gleason
reported there
was beautiful water in this area this week with very few weeds or jelly
fish. The main action now is with some bluefish at the top of the tide
around the inlet jetties and kingfish on the sand beaches using clams or
worms. Lots of kingfish on the sandy beach of Long Beach as well. No news or
fluke along the beach yet and any bass action is from 2 a.m. to sunrise then
it ends and no keepers reported.

Rockaways/Breezy
Point:
The only striped bass action has been off
the Rockaway Jetty on bunker chunks at night otherwise it is
bluefish everywhere at the Breezy Point Jetty, North Channel Bridge and anywhere you see birds
working near the surf. You can use bucktails, pencil poppers and bunker
chunks or clam. Pencil poppers at first light in these two areas
catch bass and bluefish. The vanguard of blue claws is just beginning at the
North Channel Bridge with reinforcements on the way in a week or two. The

Attention all hunters, let us know what you
would like to see us carry as we are seriously considering carrying a
full line of ammo and various supplies you might need for your local
goose, duck small game and deer hunting. If we can get enough feedback
we will dedicate a section of the shop solely to hunting. Several of our
staff is avid hunters so with there input and yours we'll see if we can
put an efficient hunting section together for all you guys.

Bass Boy, now in their third season, continues to renovate the bait and
tackle shop in East Rockaway right on the water Team Bass Boy is directly on
the way to the Bay Park Boat Launch Ramp and the Bay Park bulkheads for
crabbing, fluke, flounder, snappers and striped bass fishing. John Gleason
and family, with a courteous staff run Team Bass Boy with the respect,
family values, support and atmosphere of that ol’ time tackle shop you grew
up with. Team Bass Boy is easy to get to, has all fishing and crabbing
supplies with custom traps, “overnighters” and all the surf, inshore and
offshore bait and tackle you need! Team Bass Boy is in line with the Bay
Park Boat Launch Ramp and the Bay Park bulkheads for crabbing, fluke,
flounder, snappers and striped bass fishing.
